ABC-HOUSE WORKSHOPS FOR ADULTS 2025-2026

During the workshop for adults, you will each time explore a particular aspect from the ABC ateliers and the library. Accompanied by an experienced guide, you will try out different activities and get a lot of inspiration to continue working at home or in the classroom.
You can register for the whole series or per theme workshop.

09/12/2025 Lunchbox
They come in all colors, sizes, measurements, and materials: from stainless steel or waxed canvas, a paper sandwich bag or Tupperware, with a keep-warm function and fold-out forks,…. No wonder that the lunch box, has now become a part of our heritage.
Balanced? Fresh? Tasty? High in calories and good for concentration, or something to enjoy with classmates?
After all, every child is different, every culture has different tastes and eating habits. Some prefer to eat warm food, others prefer the same peanut butter sandwich every day.
This workshop is about taste and wrapping tricks, knowledge, ideas, and stories. We’ll peek into lunchboxes from other countries, get inspired by books, images, and films, and finally prepare a to-go meal for the next day.

24/02/2026 Circle Song
A, I, O, E, SCHHH, VVVV… together we explore sounds and their vibrations and sing along freely and spontaneously. Strange sounds, made-up languages, silences, melodies, and laughter form the song of the circle.
People have been coming together to sing in circles for centuries. As a symbol of unity in nature, the circle offers space for each individual to compose. Every voice, every song has its own place.
This workshop consists of three parts:
Warm-up for body and voice
Vocal exploration and improvisation games
Circle song experience inspired by Bobby McFerrin.
No singing or circlesong experience is required.

26/03/2026 Kayak
This hands-on workshop focuses on the construction of a full-scale skin-on-frame kayak, developed through a non-traditional and experimental approach. Ancestral techniques used by Indigenous cultures such as the Inuit and Yaghan are reinterpreted and combined with contemporary materials and construction methods.
Over the course of three hours, participants engage with the structural, functional, and cultural dimensions of the kayak, its frameless assembly, its relation to water, and its symbolic charge. The process unfolds within the framework of a chantier naval, a temporary collective construction site where manual work, material thinking, and inventive design come together.
Coaching: Nicolas Ibaceta

23/04/2026 In Motion
Panta rhei, everything flows, everything moves; plants, people, objects, and even stories and ideas are constantly transforming.
During this workshop, we introduce the studio ‘In Motion’, which fills the entire ABC House, to adults: how do we use and experience this theme with an audience of children, students, teachers, artists, parents, or toddlers, etc.?
There will also be plenty of time for discussion and, of course, to get started with the materials yourself!
Make automata out of matchboxes, leave traces behind while dancing, test Newton’s laws, play with shadows on the wall, let stories grow over time, or build the longest domino course in the world.
