workshop hengstenberg en pikler

ABC-HOUSE WORKSHOP FOR ADULTS HENGSTENBERG & PIKLER – SATURDAY 11 FEBRUARY 2023

Coherent development of movement and the strengthening of personality development
The Hungarian pediatrician Emmi Pikler researched the conditions under which children (if possible from birth on) can develop independent movement. Her approach not only enables the child to develop a very healthy and pain-free posture, but also to gain a high level of safety and competence in dealing with challenges and risks, i.e. also with accidents.
Elfriede Hengstenberg gave children between 3 and 15 years of age, who did not have such optimal starting conditions, the possibility of a “re-development” of health, safety and personality. As Emmi Pikler, she as well used movement materials, that are also available in ABC.

The workshop offers a deeper understanding of a meaningful use of these materials. But even without materials, the workshop will give insights of how to contribute to better conditions for children in one’s own family and circle of friends.
For the moments of self-experience, we need the possibility to be barefoot.
The workshop is held by Eva Schmale, a German professional, who has been working with the Hengstenberg approach and Pikler pedagogy for many years. Parents, teachers or childcare workers and other adults are invited to inscribe.
In English.
