HOLIDAY WORKSHOP ‘POT PATAT PLANEET’

Eating with knife and fork, with chopsticks or with hands, sometimes at the table or on the ground from a bowl or from a banana leaf.
Good food is eaten all over the world. Deep-fried starfish, pickled cucumbers, lost bread, apfelstrudel or dried fish. What would they eat high in the mountains, in the desert and in Alaska where nothing can grow?
Natural foods can be found in the wild or are grown, we can forage on a hike or buy at the store. But did you know that 3D-printed chocolates already exist and that snack cucumbers grow faster under pink lights in a giant greenhouse than outside in the sun?
We ourselves can also create, transform and ferment all sorts of things.
And also through:
Making your own cookbook with beet and onion peels, balancing utensils, sharpening carrots, putting on a vegetable wig, making paper from nettles and edible packaging, and decorating the party table with dainty napkins. This and much more to explore the world of food culture.

HOLIDAY WORKSHOP DOE GEWOON MAAR ! ART BRUT

Letting go: we paint with our gut feeling, make a coat just with scraps of fabric, invent new shapes and sizes, fill our sheet until it’s completely full or put together a delightful collection of knick-knacks. Playing with what’s already there. Is this art? Who actually determines what art is? An ongoing debate!
Over the past century, there have been several attempts to name and give more attention to “art on the side”. You may have heard of ART BRUT, OUTSIDER ART or WILD ART. But do we need to find another word at all for what is flourishing alongside the mainstream?
During this research week, we will dive into the brilliant worlds of creators. A universe where rules are replaced by a visual language of dreams, rituals, rhythm, details, materials and lots of manual labor. Think of a gigantic palace made of boulders, streetcar lines that become a labyrinth, statues made of chewing gum, a cosmic machine floating over the atomium, a carousel made of old iron, or a house made of lace. Do you also feel the urge to just do?
