HOLIDAY WORKSHOP KLEUR ALCHEMIE

Summer and sun ! Feel like putting the blue of the skies on paper with pencils or paint…. But where did those colors actually come from? While today you can choose your clothes in any color and paint is available ready-made in tubes and jars, long ago, monks or artists made their materials all by themselves. They looked for ways to extract dye, crushed stone into pigment and mixed it with homemade glue. It is time to bring those ancient recipes up from under the dust!
During this holiday workshop, we will head out into nature to pick pigments and grow colors. In our alchemist’s kitchen, we brew ink from fiber and scrap iron. From berry sidewalk chalk to birch charcoal, from indigo to apple tree yellow, there are as many possibilities as there are colors*.

HOLIDAY WORKSHOP IN MOTION
From Monday 25/08 till Friday 29/08/2025

The ABC House is dedicated to movement for a whole week.
How is it that things move, roll, fall, flap, jump or flutter? Is there anything that doesn’t move?
This holiday workshop is about moving people who walk, travel or draw.
But also about automata, dancing plants or flying animals, the joints of a marionette, the invention of the wheel or about gravity causing the apple to fall down.
