Holiday workshop Imagine to float

Water is a precious treasure that has brought people together for centuries. All over the world, stories are told along its banks—from the legend of the water monster Vodnik, to the tale of the whale Moby Dick, or the story of the Swedish horse Bäckahäst.
Waterways also make us dream of distant journeys and undiscovered places. As in the story “Paddle-to-the-Sea,” about a small wooden canoe that travels down rivers to reach the ocean, we let ourselves be carried along by the current. Along the way, we admire the flashy blue kingfisher, the patient heron and other aquatic creatures.
We meet the Inuit and the Yaghan people and are inspired to build a kayak or An at our own shipyard.
We’ll start making rope figures to tell stories, tie knots, or create a fishing line and landing net, and discover a thousand ways to fold a sheet of paper into a little boat.
Following the course of the Zenne, our ships and floating sculptures will be launched. Welcome aboard!

ABC holiday courses are focused on primary school children (first to sixth grade).
Price: 175 euros /first child, 165 euros /second child, 145 euros/third child (family) / 60 euros Paspartoe reduction rate.

Holiday Workshop Wiskunde: 𝝅 maal duim
From Monday 24/08 till Friday 128/08/2026
Math is more than graph paper or 1 plus 1. It’s in the carrot slices in your soup, twists its way into the shape of your shoelaces, and forms little crosses between your furrowed eyebrows.
You can fold, weave, bake, freeze, or paint with math. But even before you’ve looked in the mirror this morning, you might already be counting and measuring.
Can I sleep for 5 more minutes? Is my reflection symmetrical today? What clothes fit this body type? What are the odds my brother gets the biggest piece? Am I taking the shortest route home?
For a week, we’ll play with shapes and numbers, cut cakes, peel carrots, count with hands, feet, or beads, make lists, tidy up, and solve problems.
When you’ve had enough, you can just do puzzles, draw endlessly, or jump rope. Psst… jumping rope isn’t just hopping through a parabola—mathematically speaking, it’s a Jacobi elliptic function!
