Family Workshop One Line
A line is writing, outline, a path, a horizon, a guide—curved, straight, broken, or continuous. Can you keep writing forever? Draw a cat without lifting the pencil from the paper? Is the smallest line in the world a dot?
Drawing a line in space makes you dance. Lines are woven and knotted into clothing or transformed into wire sculptures.
And if I wanted to eat a line, it would be a strand of spaghetti!
During the Kunstendag voor Kinderen, lines serve as the common thread throughout various workshops at the ABC House: calligraphy, textiles, mazes, woodworking, and much more.
For families with children ages 5 and up; we’ll set up a play area for younger children.

WORKSHOPS FOR ADULTS
During the workshop for adults, you will each time explore a particular aspect from the ABC ateliers and the library. Accompanied by an experienced guide, you will try out different activities and get a lot of inspiration to continue working at home or in the classroom.
You can register for the whole series or per theme workshop.

WEDNESDAY WORKSHOP FOR YOUNGSTERS
Do you like to leave the beaten path? Do you like to read between the lines? You are welcome to the ABC House for afternoons surrounded by materials, books, art and ideas.
We will design, connect, imagine, explore, and learn new techniques. We will take time: to try, create, fail, and be surprised by what emerges.
We work in thematic series of five Wednesdays. You may sign up per series or for the whole year (3 series, 15 workshops).

On Wednesdays from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
For young people aged 12 to 15 years
Cost, including materials: 60 euros per series of 5 workshops or 150 euros for 3 series (15 workshops), 60 euro Paspartoe

EXTRA
On 04/11/2026, 10/02 and 07/04/2027 we organize an open workshop as an introduction to the activities.
Doors open from 11am, for lunch we serve soup with bread to refuel. The workshop ends at 4 pm.
ABC – MEDITATION COURSE 11/04/2027
Vipassana Meditation as taught by S.N. Goenka in the tradition of Sayagyi U Ba Khin.
For children and adolescents from 8 to 18 years of age
This course teaches the technique of Anapana meditation, a preparatory step for Vipassana meditation.
Anapana means the observation of natural, normal breathing, as it comes in, as it goes out.

FREE RESEARCH – CONSULTATION DAYS ABC LIBRARY
Several days a month the house is open for free research and consultation in our library. Teachers, educators, students, parents, scientists, artists and other interested parties can spend an entire afternoon or evening finding inspiration, researching, preparing lessons, working on internship projects and meeting each other. Upon request, we are happy to give a tour of our collection or introduction to our way of working. An ABC staff member can support you in your research.

POSTA SILENZIOSA 10/2026
Every first day of the month ABC sends a mail: “Posta silenziosa.” A powerful image, a provocative quote, a poetic thought, etc., coming from the ABC collection or the web, and sometimes linked to one of our current projects, but mainly just because we like to surprise you. An eye- or heartcatcher, or call it ‘a healthy form of emotional irritation.’
