Mating nest of the Satin Bowerbird in the Jungle of New Guinea
The two openings on the frontside are connected on the inside with a halfround passage.
The male bird has decorated the column between the openings with dark moss, blue glittering beetles (left), yellow blossoms (middle) and pieces of seashells (right). In front of the bower is a woven fence of branches as boundary of the “garden” which is garnished with colorful fruits (often also with flowers).
