EX LIBRIS ABC:
Mel Bochner (American, b. 1940)
FIFE BY FOUR / 1972
Stones and chalk on floor, size determined by installation.
Courtesy of the artist.
The American artist Mel Bochner drew four sets on the floor; each set has
subsets that contain a total of five stones (clockwise from the upper left):
5 + 0 = 2 + 3 = 4 + 1 = 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1
The stones in the four sets can be put in one-to-one correspondence; thus the four sets have equal cardinality
